Traffic advisory issued for smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra-2025

The Traffic Police Headquarters Jammu and Kashmir has issued a detailed advisory to regulate vehicular movement for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2025, slated to be held from July 3 to August 9, 2025.

According to the advisory, strict cut-off timings have been fixed for yatra convoys, non-convoy pilgrims, and tourist vehicles moving between Jammu and the Kashmir Valley. The move aims to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.

The cut-off timings for Yatra Convoys, for convoys heading towards Baltal:.

From Jammu to Baltal, the last vehicle must cross NAVYUG Tunnel by 0400 hrs (4:00 AM) and from Lamber (Banihal) to Baltal at 1000 hrs (10:00 AM).

It says, from Manigam (Ganderbal) to Baltal, at 1700 hrs (5:00 PM), and for returning convoys from Baltal, the last vehicle must leave Baltal Base Camp by 0600 hrs (6:00 AM).

Meanwhile, for the Pahalgam route, it says from Jammu to Pahalgam, the vehicles must cross Mir Bazar by 1600 hrs (4:00 PM) and from Lamber (Banihal) to Pahalgam at 1100 hrs (11:30 AM).

Moreover, all non-convoy pilgrims and tourists must travel strictly between 0700 hrs to 1800 hrs (7:00 AM to 6:00 PM).

It also says, movement of yatris beyond 6 PM will not be allowed. “Any yatri or tourist vehicle found moving after the cut-off time will be halted and directed to the nearest camp by security forces,” the advisory reads.

In the meanwhile, the key restrictions include that no yatri or tourist vehicle will be allowed from Baltal, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, or Gulmarg towards Srinagar after designated hours.

Similarly, no movement will be allowed from Srinagar towards Gulmarg after 1000 hrs (10:00 AM).

It reads the cut-off at Nagrota (Jammu) and Jakheni (Udhampur) will be strictly enforced.

The helpline numbers for any assistance include Traffic Control Unit Jammu: 0191-245904; TCU Srinagar: 0194-2450022;
TCU Ramban: 6005820617; TCU Udhampur: 9419993745 and General Helpline: 7298515191.

Notably, these instructions apply only to yatra vehicles and tourists. Separate traffic advisories will be issued for heavy motor vehicles (HMVs), light motor vehicles (LMVs), and security forces convoys on a daily basis—(KNO)
