Jammu — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday apprehended two individuals and recovered 27.77 grams of heroin-like substance during a naka checking operation in R S Pura Jammu.
On April 3, 2025, a police team from Police Station R S Pura was conducting routine patrolling in the jurisdiction. During the operation, a naka was established near Public Resort, Chohala. At approximately 18:30 hours, an Alto car (JK02AH-1456), coming from Chak Aslam towards R S Pura, attempted to evade the naka.
Acting swiftly, the police team intercepted the vehicle and detained the two occupants, identified as: Dheeraj Choudhary @Janu, S/o Janak Raj, Shubham Kumar, S/o Ghara Ram both residents of Chohala Kothey, Tehsil R S Pura, District Jammu.
Upon conducting a search, the police recovered 17.10 grams of heroin from Dheeraj Choudhary and 10.67 grams from Shubham Kumar, totaling 27.77 grams.
A case under FIR No. 60/2025 has been registered at Police Station R S Pura under relevant sections of the NDPS Act (8/21/22/29/60). Further investigation is underway.
