Union Minister for Power and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, held a press conference at the Amar Singh Club in Srinagar.
J&K BJP President Sat Sharma, Leader of Opposition J&K Sunil Sharma, Waqf Board Chairperson (MoS) Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, BJP Spokesperson Altaf Thakur, and Media Incharge for Kashmir, Sajid Yousuf Shah were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, all the BJP senior leaders inaugurated Exhibition, depicting 11 years of transformative governance by the Modi government.
Manohar Lal Khattar discussed many benefits provided to the people over the last 11 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, especially through technology. He stressed the important role of young innovators in helping India move towards self-reliance.
The Minister announced that during the recent Operation Sindoor, Indian cybersecurity agencies stopped around 200,000 cyberattacks aimed at the country’s power infrastructure. These attacks, which occurred over a week, were effectively neutralized, showing India’s strong cyber defense capabilities.
Shri Khattar praised the progress in Jammu & Kashmir’s power sector. He highlighted the use of smart meters and prepaid smart meters in the region. Jammu & Kashmir has surpassed several other states in adopting these technologies, leading to better energy efficiency and management.
The Minister pointed out the teamwork between the Union Government and the Jammu & Kashmir administration in tackling challenges and improving infrastructure. He assured that any concerns raised by the UT administration would be addressed quickly to support the smooth execution of development projects.
The press conference reinforced the Union Government’s promise to strengthen Jammu & Kashmir’s infrastructure and security. With careful planning and teamwork, the region is ready for continued growth and development.
