In a recent press interaction, Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain reiterated that the fight against terrorism in the Union Territory is far from over, emphasizing that the true conclusion of a war occurs when one side acknowledges defeat.
Addressing reporters, DGP Swain stated, “War ends only when one side accepts defeat and acknowledges that bloodshed is not going to yield any result. So our fight against terrorism will continue despite bearing some losses at times.”
When questioned about the ongoing battle and the potential fluctuations in infiltration rates, the DGP affirmed the unwavering commitment of the police force. “Peechay hatnay ka sawaal he nahi…” he asserted. He also addressed concerns about infiltration, noting that it might vary but stressed that such matters are not intended for public disclosure.
On the occasion of Gurupurab, DGP Swain paid homage to Guru Nanak Devji, highlighting the significance of the teachings in today’s context. “Guru Nanak Devji’s teachings are very much relevant today. He has preached equality and no difference between poor and rich. Irrespective of caste, colour and creed, Guruji’s teachings can enlighten any soul even today. On this occasion, I extend my wishes to the Sikh community of J&K,” the DGP conveyed.
In the spirit of Gurupurab, DGP Swain affirmed that, on this sacred occasion, the police force renews its pledge to serve the people and rededicate themselves to the welfare of the community. (TRK News)
