Rajouri, May 13 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Monday visited the Nowshera sector in Rajouri district to assess the situation in areas affected by recent cross-border shelling along the Line of Control (LoC).

Speaking to media persons during the visit, Dulloo confirmed that the shelling from across the LoC had hit civilian areas, causing injuries and damage to homes and farmland. “Many people have been injured, farmers have suffered losses, and several houses have been damaged,” he said.

Dulloo stated that the local administration is carrying out an assessment of the damage. In response to the demands of local residents, he said there are currently around 9,500 bunkers in the border areas, but additional bunkers will be constructed to meet further requirements. “There is a demand for more bunkers. We will build more, and there will be no shortage,” he added.

Responding to concerns about the lack of emergency services, Dulloo acknowledged that there is a shortage of ambulances in the area. “We will provide them ambulances,” he said—(KNO)
