A woman was hospitalised after allegedly attacked and left injured by a mendicant, with a knife, in Lolab area of Kupwara district.
Reports reaching , said that an unidentified person, entered the house of one Tahir Ahmad Wani, to seek alms. During the course of time, the person attacked the wife of Wani with a knife and stabbed her in her chest. Alerted by cries, the people around reached the house of Wani, however the person managed to flee the site.
The victim was subsequently taken to SDH Sogam for treatment, where her overall condition is said to be stable.
Meanwhile, a police official told , that they have alerted the personnel and also sought help from locals to nab the assailant. “People need not to panic, we are on hunt to track down the assailant very soon,” the official said.
