London, United Kingdom, May 27: Yana Mir, CEO of ‘The Real Kashmir News’ and Vice President of All JK Youth Society, delivered an insightful speech during her address to the audience at an event in the United Kingdom (England) on Saturday.
The event, organised by Jammu Kashmir Study Circle London, was graced by Miss Yana Mir as the Chief Guest who spoke on the topic “The Voice of Real Kashmiris”.
In her address, Mir underlined the need for enabling the true voices from Kashmir valley to be heard. She highlighted the ongoing attempt of the anti-Indian lobby to suppress the ideology and the true voice of the Kashmiri people across the world and underscored as to how the media’s influence is being used against the people of Kashmir to shape a differing narrative.
Mir also stressed that sane Kashmiri voices deserve a platform to speak on the issues that affect them and their community at different forums involving an international audience. She urged everyone to support the cause of Kashmiri people and to provide them with the opportunity to share their ‘unheard stories’.
Mir stressed about the importance of the G20 Summit and the possible avenues the global summit will open up for Kashmiris in terms of tourism, foreign investments, job generations and nature-sustainable opportunities like sports and film shooting.
Talking on the abrogation of Article 370 AND 35A, Mir said the articles were rendered redundant way before. “The abrogation thing made no difference to common Kashmiris, since it had no benefits for Kashmiris”, Yana said adding “In fact more citizen friendly laws started getting implemented in J&K after the abrogation of the contentious articles.”
Mir also enumerated the various schemes which the Government of India has flagged off in J&K to generate income for the Kashmiri community, who were otherwise struggling under manufactured conflict for 3 decades.
The event was well-received by the audience and it generated broad participation and interest among the attendees.
Yana Mir’s insights and viewpoints were enlightening and appreciated by the audience, and the discussion proved to be fruitful.
The Jammu Kashmir Study Circle London expressed their gratitude to Yana Mir for her thoughtful and valuable contribution and making the event successful.
