Youth Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference leader Akbar Tango took to Twitter to raise his concerns regarding smart meter installation conflicts arising in the local areas where he said, The uprising protest regarding the installation of smart meters has unfortunately extended to a communal difference between the local people and authoritative body. Power has been cut off in local areas (the police station included) as a reaction towards people’s disapproval regarding the same matter. We need to consider that there are patients who require continuous support of medicinal equipments that operates via electricity. The undeniable rise in temperature or the approaching days to Eid where preparations are at peak cannot be denied and must be taken into consideration before taking such steps. A healthier approach to understand people’s concern regarding the difference in bills generated earlier and in present must be acknowledged. An alternative solution to this problem would require relaxation of fees towards people who aren’t able to pay the bill generated via smart meters. Requesting the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir (@OfficeOfLGJandK) to empathize with their dire situation and restore hope among the citizens of J&K
