Srinagar : Daljit Singh Chawdhary, IPS, Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), visited the Kashmir Frontier headquarters, Srinagar on his two-days visit.
During his visit, the DG held key meetings with police/ civil officials, including Rashmi Ranjan Swain, IPS, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, and Nalin Prabhat, IPS, Special Director General (Security and Operations), to discuss foolproof security arrangements for the upcoming Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Elections-2024.
Emphasizing the need for enhanced security, the DG exhorted for increased vigilance along the Line of Control (LoC) and in the hinterland to ensure a fair, peaceful and transparent election process.
The visiting officer also paid floral tribute to BSF martyrs at the Shaheed Smarak and reviewed training aspects at the Subsidiary Training Centre.
On 7th September, DG BSF visited forward areas, where he evaluated the security situation and operational preparedness along the LoC.
Commending the troops and commanders for the successful conduct of GPE and Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2024, he urged BSF personnel to remain vigilant against threats to national security.
