Srinagar: Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been awarded with the National ODOP Award, 2023, under sub-category for the states and Union territories, hilly and north eastern states and island territories, for its remarkable efforts in promoting the ODOP (One District One Product) initiative.
The event, as per Alfaaz-The Words news, was organised by DPPIT, Invest India. The first edition of ODOP Awards witnessed an overwhelming response, with a total of 580 applications from 535 districts, 26 States/UTs, and 19 Indian Missions Abroad. There were a total of 24 Awards across 3 categories – for Districts, States and Union Territories.
The event recognized exceptional contributors to the ODOP Initiative, showcasing India’s cultural heritage and entrepreneurial spirit.
Khalid Jahangir, Managing Director of Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation, graciously received the award on behalf of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir from the Chief Guest Union Minister of External Affairs, Dr. S Jaishankar and Guest of Honour Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles Piyush Goyal.
National ODOP Awards ceremonies are a celebration of India’s journey towards self-reliance, showcasing the nation’s rich cultural heritage, diverse talents, and innovative spirit.
