Srinagar, May 13: Sanjay Sapru (52), a Kashmiri Pandit and a social activist, came all the way from Gurgaon, Haryana, to cast his vote at the polling station in Barbarshah, Srinagar.
Sapru told the that he came specifically from Gurgaon to cast his vote, which he believes was his right and an obligation that he fulfilled.
He said that he is a resident of Barbarshah, Srinagar, and has his vote in Barbarshah only.
“This is not the first time I have visited here specially to cast my vote, but I also came in 2014, 2015, 2019, and today. I came alone here and fulfilled my right,” he said.
He said that in this election, he believes that the threat has disappeared among the voters, and people are coming out to vote. He said that the reports which came at 11 am showed that the percentage has already crossed the previous year’s percentage, and that too in the morning only.
“This election is for change. It doesn’t matter who wins, but the important thing is that the people who were not coming out to vote are willingly casting their vote which is the biggest achievement of a democracy,” he added.(Rising kashmir)
