Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan stated that people residing in Kashmir have a peaceful nature and that the violence that has taken place there is being directed from across the border.
Governor of Kerala, Arif Mohammed Khan, made comments to the media during the National Convention on Sufism in Srinagar, which was presided over by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Khan stated that he had no doubts about the peaceful nature of Kashmir and that the violence that occurred was a result of cross-border influences. He further added that during his time in the Home Ministry in 1985, there were more jail officials than prisoners in Srinagar’s central jail. Khan also commented that those who have been involved in causing harm to others have fallen into their own traps and cannot escape their consequences.
As per a government representative, Khan mentioned during his speech the significant contributions of Lal Ded, Nund Rishi, Sufis, and Saints from Jammu & Kashmir in strengthening unity and oneness. He added that their teachings and writings will continue to be a guiding light for humanity.
Khan also stated, “Our ancient heritage has taught us the values of peace, love, and humanity. People of all religions and sects are a part of one family. The continuity of our culture, traditions, and values is India’s greatest strength and has enabled our nation to prosper.”
