In a recent development, the State Secretary and Spokesperson of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Rouf Bhat, has resigned from his position, expressing dissatisfaction with the party’s treatment of its dedicated workers.
In a resignation letter addressed to the party’s president, Bhat outlined his concerns over the party’s recent actions, which he believes have sidelined loyal members in favor of opportunistic entrants.
“Keeping in view the disgraceful attitude of the party towards sincere and dedicated workers who proved their worth in the most difficult times, where the majority of leaders across all parties had confined themselves in the cocoons of slumber to save their skin with next to no activity on the ground, after giving it deep thought, I find that the deliberate omission of these sincere workers and the adaptation of parachute entrants from vested lobbies is a replica of the mistakes of the past, which has brought this region to the position we are in now,” reads the resignation letter of Rouf Bhat addressed to party president Mehbooba Mufti.
“I feel deeply pained, aghast, and disrespected and find myself with no option other than to resign from the basic membership of PDP. My journey with the party has been one of immense learning and growth, and I am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way during my tenure. I believe it is in the best interest for me to step aside from my role within the party,” the letter further added.
