Srinagar :- In a stirring acknowledgment of their relentless efforts in the fight against drug abuse, three well known Non governmental organisations have been honored with top and Rehabilitation” award.
The accolade, presented by District Legal Service Authorities Srinagar along NGOs white globe and Kashmir during a ceremony at Court Complex Srinagar recognized the exceptional dedication and impact of NGOs we the Kashmir Foundation, Rehmatan Lil Aalmeen Foundation Srinagar and Athwas group of Humanity in addressing the scourge of drug addiction in our society.
During their speech speakers said that We the Kashmir Foundation has been at the forefront of innovative initiatives aimed at raising awareness, providing support, and implementing rehabilitation programs for individuals grappling with substance abuse.
They while recognising the multifaceted approach encompasses community outreach, education campaigns, and personalized rehabilitation services tailored to meet the diverse needs of affected individuals.
“We are deeply honored to receive this esteemed award,” remarked NGO heads of these NGOs including Sheikh Firdous, Waqar Fayaz and Rouf Elahi.
“It serves as a testament to the unwavering commitment of our team and the transformative impact of our work in empowering individuals to break free from the grips of addiction and reclaim their lives.” They said.
The commendation comes at a critical juncture as communities worldwide grapple with escalating rates of drug abuse and its devastating consequences.
We the Kashmir Foundation’s holistic approach not only addresses the immediate challenges of addiction but also fosters long-term solutions through advocacy, policy reform, and collaboration with government agencies and healthcare providers, said Waqar Fayaz.

Notably, during the facilitation ceremony several journalists were also facilitated.
Well Known Journalist Jahangeer Ganaie who is working as Health Correspondent JK for News Agency Kashmir News Observer and owner of Kashmir Scroll besides Media in-charge of we the Kashmir Foundation was also facilitated during the ceremony for his good contribution in journalism and raising awareness regarding drug abuse.
